SECTION A: Creative Work

I have decided to post this picture because its intricate and busy atmosphere. While it may not be my best work I picked this because I believe that it shows texture and creativity. Landscape is natural, and I believe that buildings show be an extension of nature, encompassing its texture and shapes. Hunertwasser believed “The straight line is something cowardly drawn with a rule, without thought or feeling; it is a line which does not exist in nature.”

SECTION 2: Inspiration

It was difficult for me to single out an image that marked initiation of my inspiration to become and Architect. Therefore I have chosen 2 images to give an insight into the beginnings of the passion that I feel for Architecture.

The first is the CH2 Building located in Melbourne (Pictured Left). Designed by Mick Pearce and DesignInc and built by Hansen Yuncken this building is inspiring not only because of the unique appearance, but mainly because of the ingenuity that has evolved from the design. I believe that green architecture is fundamental in toady’s society, and through designs such as CH2 a benchmark is being set to work within the laws of nature and create less impact. Inspiration for me is not only contained in a beautiful building but also in its function.

However, I have also chosen a building that represents for me, a sense of natural beauty entwined with today’s modern world. The curvaceous structure of the Copenhagen Opera House is linked in with bold straight lines, which I believe draw comparison between one of human beings oldest art form, theatre and the today’s modern world. Architect Henning Larsen has created something that has inspired me to create links with the built environment and nature.

SECTION 3: Photograph

I chose this photo because for me it represents the beauty of nature. it shows that nature is such an alive and vivid entity which is always changing and inspiring.

SECTION 4: ARTISTS

Piccinini: beauty, crawl, relaxed
